Long afterward, they tore down the school and renamed the site Perry Park, after Miss Rebecca Perry, long time principal of the school. When they did that, they moved home plate down the line to left field, to keep the ball away from the houses and road in the background. . Once in our teens, my friend Bob Barrett hit one off the chimney of the Walden's house, the white one behind Jimmy. Bob lived houses away, probably 117 Hawthorn Ave. |
