Mom wrote names of the kids she knew onto her copy - helpful, since I have no list. -- Bob Barrett and I hung out and played lots of board games in Jr High, until swimming and the YMCA latched onto me. Bob lived houses away from school, probably 117 Hawthorn Ave. -- Doug Hofer lived at 24 or 32 Fairfax Rd. His dad had samples in the garage, and I remember sharing some bacon rinds with Doug. -- Kevin Clark lived at 81 Beaufort Ave. -- Anne Johnson lived at 6 Coolidge Ave, on the nearest corner of Great Plain Ave to the Harris School. We shared many classes over the years, always a pleasure. -- Lana Lang lived at 10 Hazelton Ave. -- Steve Turbayne lived on Hillcrest Ave, probably between 204 & 214. Though not on the swim team with me, he was an active member and volunteer at the YMCA and Hi-Y club, and he encouraged me to get into volunteering. -- Jimmy Broadley lived relatively near the school, maybe on Wilshire Park. -- Home rooms in high school were assigned alphabetically, when we arrived there as sophomores. Mr Griffin assigned us seats alphabetically, by columns. Mary Ellen got the seat in the farthest corner from the door, and I shared the other side of that biology lab bench with her for three years. We were never buddies, but I have fond memories. |
